MPQ4242GVE-0000-AEC1 is a fully integrated power supply (PD) solution suitable for USB Type-C power ports. It integrates a buck-boost converter with four power switches and a USB PD controller. The MPQ4242GVE-0000-AEC1 can support a continuous output current (IOUT) of up to 5A within a certain range of input power supply voltages.
The USB Type-C port of MPQ4242GVE-0000-AEC1 supports USB PD R3.0 with programmable power Supply (PPS). And it is backward compatible with the dedicated charging port (DCP) solutions of the battery charging specification (BC 1.2), 3A divider mode and 1.2V/1.2V mode. The MPQ4242GVE-0000-AEC1 also supports QC 2.0/3.0 and Huawei FCP mode.
The MPQ4242GVE-0000-AEC1 provides a configurable PD power management status machine to deal with situations such as low battery voltage (VBATT) or overheating. When two MPQ4242-AEC1 ports are used as dual PD ports, their internal power-sharing logic can effectively allocate the total power.
The fault protection functions of MPQ4242GVE-0000-AEC1 include: short-circuit protection from I/O pins to BUS and VIN pins, CC overcurrent protection (OCP), hiccup mode current limiting protection, output overvoltage protection (OVP), and over-temperature shutdown protection.
The MPQ4242GVE-0000-AEC1 only requires a small number of existing standard external components, adopts the QFN-22 (4mmx5mm) package, and complies with the EC-Q100 grade 1 certification.
