The TPS56C215RNNR is a compact, single-chip 12A synchronous buck converter with adaptive on-time D-CAP3 control mode. The TPS56C215RNNR integrates low RDS(on) power MOSFETs, offering simplicity, efficiency, and minimal external components, making it ideal for space-constrained power systems. The TPS56C215RNNR is housed in a thermally enhanced 18-pin HotRod QFN package and is designed to operate within a junction temperature range of -40°C to 150°C.

Supports 12A continuous IOUT
4.5V startup (no 5.0V external bias)
Reference voltage of 0.6V ±-1% across the entire temperature range
Output voltage range from 0.6V to 5.5V
Supports ceramic output capacitors
D-CAP3™ control mode for fast transient response
Optional Forced Continuous Conduction Mode (FCCM) for narrow output voltage ripple, or automatic jump Eco-Mode for high light load efficiency
Selectable FSW of 400kHz, 800kHz, and 1.2MHz
Monotonic startup to pre-biased output
Two adjustable current limit settings with intermittent restart functionality
Optional 5V external bias for improved efficiency
Adjustable soft-start with a default soft-start time of 1ms
Operating junction temperature range from –40°C to 150°C
