Broadcom® BCM84880B0IFSBG is a single-port 5GBASE-T/2.5GBASE-T/1000BASE-T/100BASE-TX Ethernet CMOS transceiver.

The device implements all physical layer functions for 5GBASE-T, 2.5GBASE-T, 1000BASE-T, and 100BASE-TX Ethernet over Cat5e, 6, or 6A twisted-pair cables.

The BCM84880B0IFSBG supports USXGMII, XFI, 5000BASE-X, 2500BASE-X, and 1000BASE-X (SGMII) interfaces for connection to the MAC.

The BCM84880B0IFSBG is a highly integrated solution that integrates a digital adaptive equaliser, analogue-to-digital converter (ADC), phase-locked loop (PLL), line driver, encoder, decoder, echo canceller, crosstalk canceller, and all necessary support circuits.

The BCM84880B0IFSBG supports the Energy Efficient Ethernet (EEE) protocol. EEE enables the BCM84880B0IFSBG to automatically negotiate and operate with EEE-compliant link partners, thereby reducing overall system power consumption when link utilisation is low.
