Automotive-Grade Diodes Types:
Automotive bridge rectifier diodes
ST’s portfolio of bridge rectifier diodes – AEC-Q101-qualified – is intended for primary bridges used in automotive battery chargers. These dedicated products are guaranteed in operation at junction temperatures from -40 up to +175 °C. The bridge rectifier diodes belong to our STPOWER family.
 
A special screening matrix is implemented on these automotive-grade products at both die and finished product levels, in order to comply with the most stringent international automotive quality requirements.
 
Automotive Schottky diodes
ST’s portfolio of Schottky diodes is fully compliant with the AEC-Q101 standard and is intended for DC-DC converters. They are used in numerous automotive functions such as LDC (Low Voltage DC-DC), as well as in secondary rectification, OBC, LLC, forward active clamp or phase shift circuits. These dedicated products are functional at junction temperatures as low as -40 °C and as high as +175 °C for most of them. The extension Y is used in the part number to identify the automotive-grade  version for a given rectifier.
 
Automotive silicon carbide diodes
In addition to ensuring compliance with today's most stringent energy efficiency regulations (Energy Star, 80Plus, and European Efficiency), ST's silicon-carbide diodes show four times better dynamic characteristics with 15% less forward voltage (VF) than standard silicon diodes. 
 
The efficiency and robustness of solar inverters, motor drives, uninterruptible power supplies and circuits in electrical vehicles are therefore greatly improved by the use of silicon-carbide (SiC) diodes.
 
Automotive ultrafast diodes
The ST rectifier diode designs deliver performance for applications with very different VF/Qrr trade-offs depending on targeted functions. The minimal power losses of the ST rectifiers range is totally adapted to mains rectification, bypass, boost, bootstrap, freewheel and HF rectification functions.
