ADS1248IPWR - A 24-bit 2kSPS 8-channel Δ-Σ ADC for precision sensor measurement

 The ADS1248IPWR is a highly integrated 24-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC) launched by (TI), mainly used for precision sensor measurements.

 

The ADS1248IPWR has the following main features and specifications:

ADS1248 Instructions

The ADS1248IPWR is a highly integrated precision 24-bit analog-to-digital converter (ADC). The ADS1248IPWR device features an on-board, low-noise, programmable gain amplifier (PGA), a precise Δ-Σ ADC with a single-cycle establishment digital filter, and an internal oscillator. The ADS1248IPWR also offers an integrated extremely low drift voltage reference with a 10mA output capacity, as well as two matching programmable current digital-to-analog converters (Dacs). This device offers a complete front-end solution for temperature sensor applications, including thermal couplers, thermistors and resistance temperature detectors (RTD).

 

The input multiplexer supports four differential inputs for the ADS1248IPWR. In addition, this multiplexer also features sensor burnout detection, thermocouple voltage bias, system monitoring and universal digital I/O. The on-board low-noise PGA offers selectable gains ranging from 1 to 128. The ΔΣ modulator and tunable digital filter are established in just one cycle. When using an input multiplexer, a fast channel loop can be achieved, and data rates up to 2 kSPS are supported. For data rates of 20 SPS or lower, the filter suppresses interference at 50 Hz and 60 Hz.
